Exploration of Medicinal Plants: Tinuktuk Concoction in Simalungunese, Indonesia

Plant species have been applied in the traditional treatment of certain diseases since ancient history. The purpose this study is to explore efficacy medicinal plants, specifically tinuktuk, Simalungunese, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This effort shows potentials local knowledge preparing herbal mixtures, based on geographical existence. sample concoction was analyzed qualitatively for its health properties, using a pragmatic approach. Subsequent data were obtained from focus group discussions and field demonstrations determine plant types, processing mechanisms efficacy. results showed that leaves, stems, fruits, seeds, tubers, rhizomes 18 varieties utilized, alongside evaluation 8 properties. Among species, Zingiberaceae, Arecaceae, Euphorbiaceae belonged genera, while Areacaceae, Poaceae, Rutaceae, Zingiberaceae families predominantly applied. Therefore, determination tinuktuk appears significant terms facilitating lactation during childbirth subsequently eliminating unclean blood, enhancing immunity, maintaining stamina increasing appetite. In summary, suitable as medicine product treating various ailments across generations.
